Photo Essay of Magical Alacati, Turkey

If you read my previous post you already know that I fell in love with Alacati, head over heels. Of all the attractive places I have been in Turkey, Alacati has a certain indescribable magic to it. Something you cannot really put into words. The feeling I had was something unique. Alacati really captured a special place in my heart.alacati windmillsAs soon as I walked down Alacati’s main street passing by cute shops and colourful houses I knew that this pretty little town was my happy place. Strolling around in the labyrinth of narrow cobblestone streets with colourful doors and windows it really feels like as if you are in Greece. No wonder, since this cute Turkish town holds a Greek history.

Alacati’s charming vibe can only be partially conveyed through words or photos, so you really have to experience the magic yourself. But before you go, come and join me on a photo tour of the enchanting streets of Alacati for some inspiration and colour therapy:

  1. Hello Piia, I stumbled your page while doing some research on my upcoming trip to Alacati. Looking at all the pictures make me so excited to go. What’s your opinion for a solo traveler to visit Alacati. It’s easy to move around. Thanks xx Nora

    • Hello Nora, Thank you for your question. Alacati is very nice and safe for solo travellers. There are plenty of international and Turkish tourists in Alacati so I don’t think there is too much to worry about. I travelled around Turkey for 2 months, mostly solo and everything went smoothly, however Turkish guys can get very pushy, but conservative dresscode will do a long way. Moving around by dolmus / taxi is super easy and affordable between Alacati, Cesme and Ilica. I am sure you will enjoy Alacati! It is such a pretty little town.
